Voting intention methodology

Whitestone Insight interviewed 2008 GB adults online between 1st and 2nd July 2024, of whom 1427 gave a voting intention.

Data were weighted by 2019 past vote and by expressed likelihood to vote, with respondents being asked the voting intention questions if they selected a likelihood of 5 or above (on a scale of 1 to 10). A likelihood of 5 was given a weighting of 0.5 up to a 10 given a weighting of 1.

Any respondent who said 'don't know' at first time of asking voting intention was then asked again as if it were a legal requirement to vote. 'Don't know' was still given as an option. Any remaining 'don't knows' at the second time of asking were excluded from headline voting intention.
